USA Network Synopsis
Using a snooping device given to her by Walter, Nikita successfully
hacks into her secret Center profile and discovers clues to her
original recruitment into Section: a mysterious "M," and the possible
identity of her father. Meanwhile, Quinn combines Birkoff's Artificial
Intelligence technology with Madeline's profile and creates a holographic
Madeline. At first, the A.I. Madeline seems to be an exact replica of
the real thing, and Operations becomes obsessed with the idea of having
Madeline by his side once again. But what he refuses to recognize is
that the A.I. Madeline is actually undermining Section's ability to
eliminate The Collective, the most powerful terrorist organization
the West has ever seen. Now it's up to Nikita to stop Operations
before Section's very existence is threatened.
My Synopsis
"Quinn hatches her evil I-want-Paul-all-to-myself plot by recreating Madeline
as a dancing hologram." You haven't seen real acting until you watch Gene Glazer's
heartbreaking
performance in this episode. The man is fabulous! You can just see Operations
fall in love with Madeline all over again, and the ending is bittersweet. Highly
recommended, this is one of my favorite episodes (once I fast forward through
the Nikita stuff, heheh) that has me teary-eyed every time. I loved Madeline's
return, and Alberta's acting was once again top-notch. Again, USA's synopsis
is crap because Nikita had nothing to do with stopping Operations. Holo-Maddy
convinced him by giving him the chance to do what he could not do before:
say goodbye. *sniffle* If you watch any episode from season five, make it this
one. (And fast forwarding through the crap is also recommended, hee hee.)
Other Intel
*The song played during the dance in the Perch was "Save Your Love for Me" by Nancy Wilson and
Cannonball Adderley.
Favorite Operations Quote
"This place was at its best when it was both of us."
