USA Network Synopsis
When Nikita begins to reconsider her romantic relationship with Michael,
Madeline convinces Operations to drive a "hard wedge" between the two of
them. Michael is stripped of his Level Five status and downgraded from
mission leader to regular operative; even his office is cleaned out.
Nikita believes this treatment is negatively affecting Michael, but he
insists otherwise. However, on a mission to kidnap a black-market arms
supplier, plans go awry, and Michael takes over, leading the mission to
success. Now, Michael must decide which means more to him; his Section
status, or Nikita.
My Synopsis
"Michael relearns how much it sucks to be a peon; Birkoff and Walter fight
over the same girl." USA's synopsis is completely confusing because that's
not how I saw the episode at all. Madeline's 'hard wedge' idea was crap,
and it didn't make sense anyway, nor did it exactly work. Yes, this was
another Ops and Maddy are evil episode, but Michael wasn't exactly all
sweetness and light either. I don't even know what else to say about it.
And the Birkoff/Walter thing was just weird. Walter, who's 60 something, and
Birkoff, 20 something, fighting over the same girl? But Birkoff sticking
up for Walter was really cute. The best part was having Davenport in the
episode (yum!). Otherwise, two thumbs down for this episode.
