USA Network Synopsis
Rather than give the much-coveted position of Head Strategist to Michael,
Operations passes him over in favor of another operative, Zalman. Michael
is incensed, and he convinces Nikita to steal a Field Router-a communications
device that can jam any and all Section frequencies-to use to escape Section
on an upcoming mission. When they do, Michael and Nikita take up residence in
an old country house in Belgium. However, Michael is kidnapped by Section while
in town, and tortured by Zalman to reveal Nikita's location. However, Zalman's
attempts to kidnap Nikita are thwarted when his real agenda is revealed.
My Synopsis
"Michael and Nikita run off to frolic in a Belgium forest when Operations promotes another
operative over Michael." Ah, this episode was okay. The stuff with Ops and Maddy was amusing
("It took me nine hours to figure out." - "I actually factored in ten. As usual, you exceeded
my expectations."), and I really liked the scene between Ops and Walter. I am confused though:
I thought Madeline was head strategist. So why would she give up her post for someone else?
What else does she do? Second-in-command is surely a big responsibility, but it's not like
she's going to follow Ops around all day. Since she didn't know the truth about Zalman, it's
doubtful that Ops said 'give up your post so I can flush out a mole.' So what's the deal?
Michael wasn't promoted at the end, so the post went vacant. Confusing... Anyway, that's about
it. I just really liked the stuff with Walter, and Ops was uncharacteristically sweet. He let
his guard down, and you could see it in the way he acted; his voices wasn't as harsh, he sounded
natural. Very nice touch. I wonder what Walter did with the crystal thing. :)
