USA Network Synopsis
Section believes that the imprisoned leader of a terrorist group is
funneling orders for an upcoming attack through his lawyer, Armel.
Nikita and Michael pose as an average suburban married couple in order
to trick Armel into believing Nikita is a 'retired' psychic. Convinced,
Armel kidnaps Nikita and forces her to psychically 'contact' his son,
who died in a traffic accident. However, Nikita discovers that Armel's
son is very much alive, and being held by Section.
My Synopsis
"While Nikita pretends to contact a terrorist's dead son, Madeline confronts
her dying mother." Hands down, Alberta looked absolutely GORGEOUS in this
episode, the best ever. Whatever makeup artist and hair stylist was working
for this episode, he/she/they should be given a huge raise! Talk about
touching, sad, bittersweet... This episode had it all. Operations breaks
Section's biggest policy--no contact with your past life--for Madeline.
(And if you still think he doesn't love her, you're crazy.) She sees her
mother and learns the bitter truth: "Sarah, is that you?" *sigh* Alberta
really shines through here, shedding the usual Madeline persona and bringing
forward the hurt, innocent, child-like Madeline. You couldn't help but
feel sympathy toward Madeline here. I liked the Michael/Nikita plot,
too. But of course, Nikita still acts surprised when she finds out that
Section has been manipulative. When will she learn? Perhaps the funniest
scene features Madeline telling Nikita that she and Michael need to have
sex. Then she gives Nikita a cute you-know-what-I'm-talking-about
look. ROTFL!
Other Intel
*Although she was never called by her name, Madeline's mother was credited
as Faye.
*Michael and Nikita were supposed to kiss in the tag scene. (Apparently,
the TRs aren't the only ones who don't get to see the good stuff.)
Favorite Operations Quote
"You know I would do anything to help you, Madeline, even break policy..."
