New Regime

USA Network Synopsis
A Section operative goes crazy and shoots Operations during a briefing. While Operations is on the verge of death in intensive care, Egran Petrosian -the deep cover agent rescued last season- takes over Section and promotes Nikita to second-in-command. Despite warnings from Madeline, Nikita believes that Petrosian is the better man to run Section One because of his straightforwardness. But when Petrosian asks Nikita to murder Operations, the future of Section hangs in the balance.

My Synopsis
"Operations is shot, pitting Nikita and Madeline against each other when SpyGirl takes over IceGoddess's job." Oooh, talk about woman vs. woman. Nikita suddenly gets promoted over Madeline. Ouch! Of course, Nikita can't do the job because she's too compassionate, but she likes the power. Madeline, since she no longer has much of a function, holds a vigil at Operations' bedside, threatening his doctors and ordering him to "Live." (What a great line, only Alberta could have pulled it off.) The greatest line, aside from my favorite Madeline quote, was "Don't be a child!" which she shouted to Nikita. And by shouted, I do mean shouted. Madeline never raises her voice, but this time she made an exception. Wow! That was so great. Although Ops was down for the count for much of this episode, Gene's acting toward the end, with Petrosian, is superb. I've never seen a man look so regretful. I think my description of this episode speaks for itself: it is highly recommended.
