Welcome to the gallery featuring pictures of Alberta Watson from "The Sweet Hereafter." I capped the images from the widescreen DVD version. I absolutely loved this movie. Add it to your must-see-films list! Alberta plays Risa Walker, who owns a motel with her verbally abusive husband Wendell. She's cheating on him with a widower (in a room in the motel, no less). She and Wendell's son is one of the children involved in the accident. You can't help but feel sorry for her (and everyone else in the movie). Alberta received mountains of praise for her role. The casting agents almost didn't hire her because they thought she was too beautiful (and when you see the caps, you'll know why). Good thing they did--she was fabulous! Two LFN guest stars were also in the movie. Maury Chaykin (Rudy the pizza delivery guy in "Innocent") played her husband Wendell, and David Hemblen (George) played Abbott Driscoll. And a bonus! The DVD version has some interviews with the cast, so I capped images of Alberta talking about her role. Enjoy!
