This 1997 film can be summed up in one word: creepy! It's like the anti-Waltons meets Psycho meets The Blair Witch Project or something. "Sweet Angel Mine" is about Megan (Alberta's character) and her daughter Rauchine, who live out in the middle of nowhere, cut off from modern society. They kill their own animals, cook their own food, chop wood...you get the idea. Then a young man named Paul (not played by Gene Glazer, unfortunately) encounters Rauchine on the beach while she's catching dinner. Paul's out looking for his father, who disappeared in the area a while ago. He and Rauchine fall in love (probably since Rauchine's so sheltered; he's really the first boy her age she's known), but Megan isn't happy about this. To her, Paul's taking away her little angel, the only person in her life that she has left. Enter Megan's spooky mother, who shows up in odd places and tells her daughter to protect Rauchine from the evil boy. Of course, Rauchine can't fight her feelings and runs away to the city with Paul, but things go downhill from there. Alberta is fabulous as usual, employing some sort of Southern accent (or I suppose Northern accent), calling Paul "boy" and stuff. It's funny. She has another stellar crying scene. The movie itself is pretty interesting, though very creepy. It's all about revenge. There's a surprise ending, too, or at least an interesting plot twist, and there's also some graphic sex and violence scenes. I'd still recommend it, though not as much as some of Alberta's other movies. And as an amusing side note, Alberta is the cover of this movie (at least the one I have). The background is a red face and a house, and guess who's face it is? heehee
